our boss is missing and we're still rather aimless. but ok i shall stop slacking today cos i feel a bit guilty but grrr we're not allowed to listen to music while we work :(
yesterday we were all made to go for some compulsory office safety talk. it was quite boring but the guy speaking was relatively humourous and i did learn some things...
in an earthquake:
- the safest thing to grab on to in the building is the pillars, cos they're the firmest. but the pillars here are very fat, can't hug them. in any case, if the floor gives way, won't we just slide down the pillars?
- the safest place in a carpark is the empty space between two cars. then when things come crashing down the two cars serve as a buffer to hopefully give you a hole to hide in.
and last night we made a trip down to carrefour to buy a folding clothes rack so that we finally have somewhere to dry our clothes. how many ppl does it take to set up a clothes rack? well i don't know but we used all 4 of us... 3 to scrutinise the instructions and follow them and 1 to take photos/videos of the process :P
ron and his best PCK impersonation
our housemate, ron the builder, is turning out to be pretty useful to have around. he carries all the heavy stuff (like the clothes rack), changes the water (the dispenser kind like in church) and well, tries to 'build' our clothes rack but not very successfully since he's a 'spoilt kid' actually. he's also tall enough to reach for things and close the cupboards overhead. so for all that we shall forgive him for not turning off our heater after bathing and also stinking up the house. [we'll just have to turn off the heater for him instead. it's a gas heater... don't wanna die of gas poisoning or get the house burned down.]
