'enjoy a night's stay in the countryside!'

Foxtown Factory Outlet Stores. Location: middle of nowhere.
we almost did... in our quest for Foxtown.
happily hopping onto the bus at 4pm, we had no idea we were in for a 1.5hr bus ride headed out of the city through suburban neighbourhoods and then even further out to the countryside, passing crops and cows and murky green-black rivers which probably cldn't run even if a 100 tigers were chasing it and a bus tv which repeatedly showed one jap teenybopper singer and a cooking show on how-to-cook-meatballs.

as we moved further and further out into the countryside we began to get more and more apprehensive about ever seeing civilisation again and considered the possibility of being stranded out there to spend the night in the OBS campsite-looking place that said "enjoy a night's stay in the countryside!"

we dutifully got off the bus when the conductor told us we'd reached and looked dubiously around us at the deserted country road (this is beginning to sound a lot like my primary school compositions)... and then we saw Foxtown behind us! imagine our exhiliration! it looked magnificent all of a sudden! we raced in eagerly like crazy madcappers!

but it turned out to be a dud. through and through. nothing nice even and still not cheap.

so we headed back to shanghai and reluctantly renewed our acquaintance with that same jap teenybopper singer and became experts in the art of cooking meatballs.

p/s: but there's always cabler to save the day! (altho it was really quite a good day actually!! )

but now i can't believe i'm back at work. siggggggh. but at least i came back to a nice bunch of emails from friends and my daily work correspondent in HK is back from being mia. :)
