i think mccain is cute leh

on the day the american election results were announced, i decided that i thought mccain was cute as i watched him give his concession speech.

which brought me to my next billion dollar idea en route to my big plan to use the billion dollars to buy my own american tv network so i could decide the next US president (which is what happens accourding to Stupid White Men)

if Mccain had won, i would have churned out the new, updated version of the teddy bear... the johnny bear! with clean white fur. everyone would have rushed to buy it, and i would make my billion dollars. (google: origin of 'teddy bear' if you don't get it)

when i generously deigned to share my brilliant idea with B, he calmly pointed out that assuming i made a profit of $10 per bear, i would have to sell 100 million bears to earn my billion... which wasn't likely since mccain got far less votes than that. (ok maybe he wasn't that calm after all, since he was actually venturing into the realm of numbers and B doesn't do numbers!!)

there are two points i have to make which show that B isn't quite as clever as he thinks.

1. he was too quick to reply. i said "IF mccain had won..."! and IF mccain had won, he would have had more than 100 million supporters!!

and that aside, the second point, which underscores the fact that B is no business person, he grossly underestimated the sales potential of the Johnny Bear. who said sales were limited to those who voted for mccain??

that would only cover the voting population of america that voted for mccain...

which misses out the very important entire population of children in the US who would buy a Johnny Bear simply because it's cute and famous (like winnie-the-pooh!) and regardless of what was happening in the 'adult' world of politics. and that's 62,245,000 kiddos mind you!! (er that 62.245m right? i always forget how many zeros there are in a million)

AND it also misses out all the tourists who visited around the time of the elections and may have wanted a souvenir to show for it

AND it also misses out all the people who could not vote but were nonetheless interested in the elections and supported mccain

AND it also misses out the fact that people who did NOT support mccain might STILL have bought the Johnny Bear to use as a stress ball, a punching bag, for dart practice, as a doggy chew toy etc etc.... after all i'm an independent manufacturer and none of my profits go to supporting mccain :P

AND since the american elections were followed with great interest by almost the whole world and thus the entire world population probably falls into one or the other of the above categories and i would provide free shipping... why i'd say i'd have a sales potential of oh... 6.7 billion*?

wow. i could buy 6 tv networks!

Edit: Oops, more like 67 billion profit! looks like i can not only buy my own tv network, i can buy my own little country! shall start browsing classifieds.
