i was so sleepy all afternoon that i'd almost decided not to go tonight
hadn't felt like having to make small talk with people i didn't really know
but i went after all and like last friday... it turned out better than expected!
it helps that i've decided that if i have nothing to say i am quite content to sit quietly by myself until something really interesting comes up around me then i chip in. i know a lot of people would find sitting quietly awkward but developing thick skin is awfully useful

so maybe although i'm rather hesitant about friday, i should just go anyway!

i guess there are just so many interesting people around... it's never too bad.

and who knows, maybe after this weekend i'll have a job!
