alternative self-injury

1. friendly. cheerful. bubbly. sunny. exuberant

2. separation anxiety. over-sentimental. over-sensitive. over-commital. phobia of transitions and partings

3. distant. aloof. reserved. withdrawn.

1 and 3 by nature do not go together. 1 is usually the more common state but could change to 3 due to 2. 2 also often results in extreme swinging between 1 and 3. 2 acts up under transitional and separational situations resulting in pain of both the annoying and heart-aching variety. there is no short-term cure for 2 although it can be numbed by 3 or by a lot of other people being 1 but then that increases the risk of a more severe case of 3 if 2 were to happen by the said bunch of people being 1. in the long-term, the effects of 2 change from sharp piercing to a dull throbbing but is still ever-present, though occasionally momentarily forgotten again due to a lot of other people being 1 but then that... and the vicious cycle goes on. 1 and 3 can also co-exist in the same period of time but emerge under different settings.

but hiding in 3 for too long results in missing out on wonderful-if-temporal friendships so it may be time to go back to 1.
