selamat hari raya!

had to work over the weekend, but at least i was off on mon and tues for hari raya and it was an awesome break :)

slept in on monday

satisfied my xiao long bao craving at night

and... went hiking on tues!

the sunrise which we almost missed because altho we got up early... the sun got up even earlier than expected! (we were literally racing across the highway trying to make it there in time and frantically keeping an eye on the sun's progress and willing it slower!)

first time i ever had to really abseil down a cliff!! i had no problems scrambling UP, but going down was scary... but i managed and it added to the fun!

some parts were really steep. and we literally had to climb up the rocks with hands and feet... like rock wall climbing, but REAL!

a one-legged scarecrow in the middle of a durian farm. don't ask me why there was a durian farm on the side of a mountain...

nor why there's a baskin robbins shack in the same remote area... ;)

a dog's soul trapped in a cat's body.... this little fella came BOUNDING up towards us as we walked towards the river as though we were his old friends and was totally rolling around on the floor for us to scratch him. he even followed us around... cats don't usually give two hoots. he only showed a bit of his catty side when we headed into the water and he backed off... altho he looked like he wished he cld join us... the dog vs cat internal struggle!

looking back on what we conquered... known to look like a dragon's back. the whole hike across was estimated to take us about 3.5 hrs... but i guess we kept pretty good pace and managed to finish in about 2.5h!

the initial vertical hike only took us about 10 mins. the rest of the 2hrs was hiking across and then diagonally down...

unfortunately, after that i had to head to work (looking like a scruffy monkey!) but to top off the fab hol, i unexpectedly went for lunch at our Chinese restaurant with B + others which was something i've been dying to do ever since working there and having to serve all that yummy looking food without getting much! (except occasional COLD leftovers...)
