Culture Soak!

what with both Mooncake Festival and Hari Raya... everyone's in a festive mood!

here's our mooncake booth at Midvalley... i was posted outfield here for about a week! loved the decor... they turned the stalls into old shophouses and I liked their attention to detail... old baskets on the wall, cats and rats running around, birds in cages, and i especially love how the stalls were separated by fake window or door grilles. very neighbourly!

i even had to make a sacrifice and embarrass myself on national tv by being interviewed in Chinese all for the sake of promoting our mooncakes! thank gdness i don't think anyone i know watched it (i'm not even sure if they broadcast it actually). it was quite hilarious cos i wld stop mid-sentence and ask the tv station guy how to say something and then just repeat his words verbatim! such a useless interviewee...

now we switch to Ramadhan and our HR Dept's Buka Puasa (break fast) at Rebung Restaurant in Bangsar...
(since I have no permanent home, HR's the closest permanent family i have since trainees technically come under HR!)
everyone had to fast for that day AND wear malay cultural dress, otherwise no buka puasa feast for ya!

all the gals! pity the lighting was so dark

switch back again (multi-racial mah!) freshly baked mooncakes smell heavenly! (but apparently don't taste as good as they do a few days old!)
chef at work. i helped too!!!!
our chinese restaurant... my home for 3 weeks. mark my words, working in a chinese restaurant is not easy!! but still quite fun if you can block out the physical exhaustion... heh
this is such a boring post but i'm too lazy to think of anything nice to say
