that really screwed up my sleeping pattern...
cos i had malaysian opens on sunday, and wasn't supp to work till monday midnight. but cos of opens, i slept really early on sunday night, and woke up at like 7 or 8, can't remember. so i went to work as usual in the morning cos i had stuff to finish. meant to leave and take an afternoon nap but in the end i stayed too late... plus i made the stupid mistake of agreeing to meet a guest (which might not actually be allowed? so shhhhh.) for dinner, which meant i'd to be back in the hotel earlier than intended. so i only went home in between for like an hour, and didn't really sleep properly.
BUT although (you'll sense a pattern here.......) i was beginning to dread meeting this guest for dinner cos it meant i had to be back early and i wasn't sure if i'd get in trouble for it or not, it turned out to be a really great dinner and i think the lady i met up with is quite a good role model! was glad to have had so much time to talk to her and learn from her experience... and to think it all happened simply because i happened to check her in and she thought i looked extra 'happy and radiant' and we got to talking and clicked and made impromptu dinner arrangements!
and then the next few days my sleep pattern was quite screwed up... or rather, i was just deprived of sleep cos i couldn't seem to sleep properly in the afternoons and would just end up going in to work early... like 7/8pm and unluckily, this night duty came at the wrong time cos it led me to miss 2 events both of which i got into trouble for although i don't think i should have! so all the lack of sleep coupled with stress of too much work and unfair "getting-into-shit" gave me really bad skin btu anyway that is beside the point of this point which was actually to say that........
on the last day of my night shift, i got off at 8am right, but I was supposed to work at 7am the next day. so i didn't want to go home and sleep cos then i wouldn't sleep at night. so i decided to just stay at work all day so i could keep awake and then sleep early.
then me and my big mouth... i happened to suggest a vertical challenge from our lobby to the roof top and my bRilLIaNt colleague suddenly decided at 3 or 4pm that we HAD to do it that day but it had to be at 7pm cos he had a meeting at 6. so even though i was half-dead he insisted i go home and get clothes and come back and finally we compromised by me scrounging for an outfit from various sources... (clothes from my director who stays in-house and shoes from my front office manager who goes to the gym every morning, all of which were too big but heck)
and this was the result:

37 floors in a surprising.... 10 minutes? much shorter than we expected. we just kept climbing steadily, each plugged into our own ipod. and i was actually leading, but then as i guessed, he decided to keep his overtaking for halfway up - around the 25th floor, and since my goal was just to finish the climb, i didn't really bother to chase after him. (the top floor is actually level R, another 2 floors up. but since noone would know what 'R' was, we just took with the highest numbered floor)
[before embarking on our journey, we courteously informed Security of our adventure because those eagle-eyed hawks would have spotted us on their cctvs and come after for us for 'suspicious lurking in stairwells' or something... we get a lot of drunk guests getting stranded in stairwells and needing to be saved so we know security is very vigilant. we also needed to warn them in case any of us collapsed along the way and needed to be kicked down... see we had all this prep beforehand hence the slight disappointment at how easy it was to climb... still worked up a good sweat though. probably just cos it was so hot and stuffy.]
