23-24 May
replete with lunch served on a banana leaf on.... our frisbee!
no plates.
Kuan, the organiser, the guy in this picture, was actually wearing a sarong to play! forgot to get that in this pic.
malaysian opens was amazing... the weather was great, the fields were great! completely changed my image of frisbee opens. past experiences with sing opens was generally monopolised by visions of muddy fields, muddy players and really disgusting toilets by the end of the day.
but malaysian opens stayed dry and clean the whole time (all 3 - fields, players, toilets!) and had pretty scenery in the background - nice hills!
the irony though, was that although the theme was 'Kampung style', there were these really nice new semi-Ds just behind our field... and all the residents and dog came out to watch us on the sunday morning... but to be fair, we were originally supposed to play in a RUBBER PLANTATION... hence the theme :P
thee only not so good part was the mix of teams - mainly singapore and malaysian teams only and we all know that singaporean teams train like frenzied madmen, and malaysian teams.... don't. train. at all.
still, had a pretty nice team! lots of memorabilia from the event, and it was a great break from work! :) one whole glorious weekend of not thinking about work at all!
