family self-entertainment day

i think i could actually be more tired from today's family day than last month's malaysian opens...

basically today we had a funfair cum picnic thingy at Lake Gardens which is opp our hotel. i was part of the org comm and was in charge of *gulp* games!

and we alll had to get there at 7am but ended up with nothing to do except eat breakfast and randomly throw a frisbee around a bit until registration opened at about 930. (but the morning seemed a good foreshadowing of the rest of the day cos all the 'adults' (those over 30) were sitting around eating while the kids 'us 25-ers and below' were playing)

but when registration opened at 930 and people started coming, we were still sitting around cos the actual program didn't start till 1045 and the crowd was a bit too thin to do much, and it started drizzling but luckily it didn't last long, but we still entertained ourselves with random impromptu games like gd ol' monkey... and monkeying around the kids' inflatables before they got there... and some random impromptu bollywood dancing led by our non-indian emcee!
then at 11 we got off to a good start with more mass impromptu bollywood dancing! then we dunked our GM.
and our directors. some of whom committed suicide before the ball hit the mark simply cos the seat wasn't securely latched down... haha

and then we had a telematch with some kids games... but there weren't enough kids so we had to join in too.
and then after the kids games there were adult games... and because there weren't that many people, everybody had to play.

then there was kids colouring which saw ALL the kids engrossed while the adults erm... looked on.

then there was a long lull period during the official 'lunch hour' where some of us (only Front Office actually) had our own picnic while there was a yoyo demonstration on stage as well.

and by this time it was getting reeeeeally hot so a lot of people started leaving... and i can't remember what we were supposed to be doing but suddenly our games degenerated into simply trying to get everybody wet and by the most efficient way possible... splashing with buckets! (this was mainly championed by 2 of our more 'on' directors + us 3 under-25ers...)

then to get everyone alive again we had a Tug of War involving just about everybody again and my team won each time! although the other team tried to cheat on the 3rd try.

then it was frisbee followed by a dodgeball challenge and all were attended by basically the same few people who were still alive.....
so i dunno but at the end of the day, it felt rather like we were just entertaining ourselves kinda! but in a verrryyyy tiring way... and under a very hot sun. but still, there were quite a number of entertaining moments and more bonding with colleagues so it still feels like a good if very tiring day!

(and now i reeeally wanna sleep but i still have A LOT of 'studying' to do online before we switch to our new system in august... argh.)
