the sweet and the scarrry

you know how restaurants let you redeem a birthday treat a few days before or a few days after your birthday?



well this year i must have had some really special birthday voucher cos i got to celebrate throughout the week before, and the week after!



first, birthday wishes and presents came flying in throughout the week...



then on thursday i had a horrid scare!

it was like a nightmare! but i was awake.

it was scary... it was freaky... it was disgusting! i tried my hardest to run away

but the room was too small :(

and i could only run that far

from the most ODIOUS birthday cake ever

it was a...

CARROT cake. i would have eaten chinese carrot cake... or even western carrot cake... but no, they got like, real carrots. like you know, the kind Nasi eats. GROSS.

gee... thanks guys, i think...

(D, don't you know it's bad form to get a present for someone just cos U like it?? just like how my sister buys me stuff so she can use it :P)

but i must say, it's certainly the most memorable cake i've ever had. :)

and thanks D for the fantisticalest present in the world! i'm more touched by the fact that you actually took time off studying to make it! :):):):) hahaha

on friday i forgot to take photos. but anyway it kinda sucked at first cos my last exam was bad :( but then i began to get over it and the evening was fun.


and by saturday i could happily enjoy my high tea at raffles hotel! my first time actually inside the hotel and it was reeeeeally nice! like a hidden bit of colonial, tropical singapore tucked away in the middle of the bustling city!

the high tea buffet and tons and tons of desserts and they were yummy but tooooo much and we couldn't finish!


then i met the sismos for dinner

and a freaky hamster gatecrashed. (i mean the one in the foreground, not the background)

post exam celebration at wala but they wouldn't sing our study hostel anthem :(

sunday and a donkey! he's SO CUTE. i also had the privilege of torturing my cell with a storytelling session of Little Miss Dotty over a doublemudpie.

and at night we had a mad 12 course dinner. we were rushing too much to take any photos. stress.

monday: yummy hong kong dessert with my shadow!

kia challenge celebratory dinner and a whole long table piled with food!

i think if we tried to fit into a picanto after dinner the car would have exploded.

today: lunch treat from someone who played poker on my birthday and won everybody else's money :P

it's strange how some years nobody seems to want to celebrate, and some years everybody seems to want to celebrate. what does it depend on... the moon?
