all maid up and nowhere to go

last friday, i got 'promoted' to cleaning rooms. lucky me - high occupancy week. 17 rooms to clean from 7am - 5pm. fortunately i wasn't alone but was paired with one of the more experienced chambermaids from myanmar. she was reeeeeally nice to me (either that or she looked down on me) cos she kept telling me to take it easy, let her know when i'm tired, make tea, eat some of the leftover fruits, etc etc. but after one whole day of working together we sure got to know each other quite well! and my arm was achingggg the next morning from all the hard wiping, vacuuming, and bed-making... i can't complain though, after all, i only had to do it for one day!

then on saturday i was cleaning public areas like the lobby... so i got to stamp logos in the ashtrays!!! i've ALWAYS wanted to do that!!! see, follow your dream... great satisfaction!

i also finally got to wear the actual uniform to work, would have been great to have had it earlier as well so i wouldn't have been checking rooms in my suit. but just as well that i got it for the actual cleaning duties or i doubt i'd have survived long. most people couldn't recognise me after i changed, they all did a double-take before realising it was me! will put up a photo once my old old co. laptop manages to read my thumbdrive!

me and the all-important housekeeping accessory - the doorstop!
