While waiting for amanda to come rescue me, i explored my first hutong and admired all their wall drawings
old shopping carts
and quaint burners
[click on the collage for a clearer view!]
Sunday - at the 798 art space.should have known it was gonna be in an ulu location from the station name
and it turned out to be way HUGER than expected
but really artsy. had so many strange things at every side and corner and even above us
i love the grass sign best
beijing is so cute. tiananmen is so important that they even depict it on the mrt map. you don't see singapore drawing Takashimaya above the orchard road station (maybe we should)
that little vehicle is called a beng-beng
and that mrt station advertisement is created ala a typical propaganda poster....
and tragically, beijing was shamefully devoid of tea! instead all they had at every corner was that pathetic yoghurt! i loved the earthenware pots tho. [and fine, the yoghurt was not bad. it just wasn't tea...]
and when amanda pointed me to the wonderful zoo market to shop, she never told me there was that amazing straight-out-of-petrograd russian-style exhibition centre nearby....
